January Dreams: welcome to 2022

1-26 thru 1-31

dream: I was a top student at a school. something went wrong with an assignment so my best friend and I burned down the gym. very methodically, from beneath it, to the wood floors. the next week, I felt anxious. my grades dropped. the vice principal began to suspect me because I hadn't even submitted an art project I should've aced. I tried speed painting 10 miniature water colors. I began to worry that maybe someone's ring doorbell had exposed us. my friend wasn't talking to me anymore.

saw 2 kids trapped in the back of a car outside the window. they were yelling to be let out. I eventually told someone as I saw a man about to drive off with them & they were set free. I wondered if this would absolve me. I think I still got in trouble for burning the gym though

dreamt I was at CL's helping him move some stuff around. I offered him a popsicle. he showed me some stuff that was in his computer after he cleaned it out (dust and bits of plastic things & a little brush). we talked about politics and he talked as if he knew my parents before they had "changed"

dreamt there was a grizzly bear that came in to the apartment ro & I were living in. it followed us in from outside. we were going to let it stay, but it became aggressive and started fighting with the cat and dog. it didn't want to leave, & it kept climbing into bed and on our couches, but we eventually lured it outside.

I just got back from riding trains with stobe from YouTube. I had a recital & Rac's mom was making me wear a blue dress. the blue shoes she got me didnt fit. there were 3 other pairs of shoes that I was having a hard time putting on. rac & the 2 other string players (quartet?) were also wearing blue, but then someone changed to yellow and someone else changed to red. there was a huge auditorium full of people. my friend E was running sound & lights.

I ran out to the lobby to find stobe who was trying to call his dad on a pay phone. he said he needed to shower. I said he could go use the one at my apartment but I was worried he wouldn't make it back in time. I didn't tell him that though. he started talking about the next place he went, he didn't want to be on a train the whole time, he wanted to hike. I saw his vision of a huge trail out in the west, up the side of a bluff or canyon. I said it would be cool to do something like the Appalachian trail & then we both said "but out west" at the same time & we smiled at each other. I knew he wasn't going to miss the show & that he would wait for me to leave town so I went back in to get ready

sometime 1-10 thru 1-25, lost track

dreamt I was at a school for parent teacher conferences. my mask kept slipping off. there was a computer lab with a bunch of really old people using the computers. there was a room with some fish tanks & the lightswitches were way too high up on the wall. there was a room where my friends e & v found a bowl of full sized candy & a box of chocolate graham crackers & they gave me the whole box because it was vegan. I took a walk around the neighborhood the school was in and the sun was setting. felt like a mountain town, but all the buildings were giant

Rh and L & I went to visit A in sf. he lived in an apartment at the end of this big green cul de sac. & there was a large dark red brick mansion at the center-end. we were down by a big river. I took a scoop of mud and squshed it in a streak on my hand and it was sandy & scrapey

dreamt I was building in clay & mud

L arrived and gave me covid tests

R & I are on vacation but I find a job as a swim teacher while we're on vacation because it's so expensive. I'm teaching a very sweet small young boy and C the cop (regular from my old coffee shop). she's rude to me but I sick with it for the child. the boy who's like, 3 is an incredible swimmer, but I'm still nervous for him. C is bad & I sit on the edge of my seat, ready to jump in for her.

later there's a whole meet. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be timing things. John Goodman is there and my dad runs over to talk to him about a quote he had in a movie about dogs or something & I feel embarrassed. I remember my parents have a pool (not really) & I should invite my friends to swim there. I walk away from the meet for a bit & lie down in between these 2 guys who are together. I'm taking to one and he tells me he's thinking about getting a perm. I tell him he should and ask him the same & he tells me no my hair is good how it is. he says it smells bad here & I ask if it's me & he says no, but his partner lets me know, I did smell. then they get up and say they have to go to eva's baby shower that might be happening if she decides to have it.

I follow them back to the room with the pool.

E & K having a lynchian baby shower. they're at a church peew and crying. glowing room behind them. K goes into it. E falls over. he climbs out of a hatch in her back & on his way out, knocks someone else's baby in. he closes her back & helps her up & everyone at the swim meet is clapping.

I was in a school, things were going crazy, people took what they wanted from each other, small children were afraid and crying.

I was cooking for people. big resort? home? got taken away from that to help get someone out of the basement. climbed a big rock wall with no help. someone was l

looking for a job, apply to an old restaurant. the restaurant building has a lot of problems. made of tile & terracotta. the whole ceiling came in & it was tragic. crashing down came a man on a horse and he looked devastated. we left to the back room to find a solution. we found antique vendors in the street running a sale. I went back to my old job & it was 3:13pm

my old boss was there along with a skinny guy with a deep voice. they had a store cat and a store fox.

dreamt I was in a large house with everyone and it was a big scavenger hunt. 30+ items. went on a long time and tamed up with ro & L. there were lions & people in big red mascot suits. you had to construct a human bit-by-bit. Truman professors were running it. people were drinking and smoking. I fell asleep in the auditorium until I had to fight the final boss. I handed the duty over to ro. beck kept running up in the way

was living out in a big canyony area but was told it was Indiana. knew I wanted to move soon. went to hang out with r's aunt (fictional) & some kids were around. aunt and I got in an argument. I had homework to do on Sunday but she wanted me to come back and stay with her that day. I said I couldn't. she messed with my homework online &I got upset and left the room. she had cameras everywhere & kept leaving mean notes on my homework, which was in a Google drive. finally I ran off & went for a big walk around the canyonscape. it was beautiful & there were wildflowers everywhere

dreamt I killed someone bad and I was moving out of my apartment. I was trying to dispose of the blade I killed the person with, it still had blood on it. I tucked it in some trash & did it covertly so the people who were helping me move wouldn't see. I was worried the police would find the blade in the trash. the colors in this dream were mostly bold warm colors, but not super bright.

Dream One: I was friends with a really pregnant cat who was human-size and walked on 2 legs, but looked like a big round grey cat with black stripes. There was some sub-plot with these vampires. Other people didn't see the cat woman as a cat but rather as a regular pregnant human. I didn't know why only I could see her as a cat.

Dream Two: R brought home a squid. He set up a kiddie pool in the middle of our living room for the squid. Our pets were too interested in it so I looked high and low for a better place to put the squid and finally R found a fish tank. We put it on the dresser in my bedroom. the squid was very small, about one third the size of my cat. It was clear with a yellow tube through the middle. It liked when the sun shown down upon it through the window.

dream one: I was like a meteor. flew over Chicago fast, past wrigley field, waaay out til reaching a 2nd minor league field. someone said this league was just as big as the major league though. it's in a canyon area. beautiful desert. I am in the parking lot, never went inside the bvall park. a tornado formed and flew around everywhere & i hid under a car. i could feel that a tall man was trying to stop it, but he kept suffocating, the tornado made it hard to breathe. I got away and got on a train. we stopped and got off and went to a hotel. I shared a room with g & j from dsm. we were trying to go to sleep but there were kids trying to climb into bed with us. i was eating an apple and shared some slices with a kid. It tasted tart and real. finally their teacher came in and made them leave and we went to sleep.

dream two: i stayed at a weird house that the landlord kicked us out of. got on another train, traveled and met up with my grandma, aunt, and cousin. We were in the mountains. it was so beautiful. we had stops in a few places where we hopped off to sleep. i ate an apple i had. someone brought on doughnuts to share. we stopped in dsm. i saw my old workplace and gave my old co-workers hugs. my old manager cried.
